QUICK ANSWER
At Yoofo, a real 5-day sampling schedule is one process per day: Day 1 artwork review (bleed, outlined fonts, foil/print layer separation), Day 2 materials prep + die cutting, Day 3 printing on Heidelberg presses with color calibration, Day 4 surface finishing (foil, UV, embossing, cold foil, lamination), Day 5 hand assembly + full QC + dispatch. Rush is negotiable; shipping a sample that failed QC is not.
"5-day sampling" is printed on many factory websites, but few buyers know what happens inside those five days. The honest version is five distinct processes, one per day: artwork review, material prep and die-making, printing, surface finishing, and hand assembly with QC. Knowing the breakdown tells you whether the 5 days are real — and it tells you exactly where a delay comes from when one happens.
\nYour design file arrives and we check whether it's production-ready: is the bleed sufficient, is the text converted to outlines, are the foil-stamping and print layers separated? Problems get flagged back the same day — nothing kills a schedule faster than discovering a file issue on Day 3.
\nGreyboard and surface paper are prepared to the confirmed spec, and the cutting die is made. For shaped boxes or special structures, the die drawing is finished this day. Tooling never waits for printing to finish — it runs in parallel.
\nSurface paper goes on press — in our case Heidelberg printing — with color calibrated against your artwork. This is the day that decides whether the box looks right. A press check against the approved proof happens before the full run of sample sheets.
\nFoil stamping, UV coating, embossing, cold foil, and lamination go on in sequence. For boxes with multi-process overprinting, this day tests the craftsman's skill most — registration between processes is measured in fractions of a millimeter.
\nRigid boxes are wrapped and assembled largely by hand, then fully inspected. Only samples that pass QC get shipped. If you're in a hurry, rush sampling can be discussed — but one thing is non-negotiable: a sample that fails inspection never leaves the factory.
\nTwo cases add time, and we'd rather tell you on day one than day five. A brand-new cutting die adds 2–3 days — an existing die gets pulled the same day your file lands, but a new one has to be drawn and made first. Artwork revisions push the schedule about one day per round, which is exactly why the Day 1 review flags file issues before anything else runs. And before anything leaves the factory, your sample is photographed and sent to you for approval — or come see it in person. The sampling room sits right beside the workshop at No. 99 Heji Road, Baihe Town, Qingpu, Shanghai.
Five days isn't a slogan; it's five processes scheduled one per day. If your project needs a physical sample before bulk, send us the artwork — Day 1 starts when the file lands.
